Revision of Regulatory Rules for Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management
NERSA has published the Consultation Paper on - Revision of Regulatory Rules for Energy Efficiency and Demand Side ManagementThe first Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management (EEDSM) Regulatory Rules were published in 2004 with the plan that it shall be reviewed bi-annually. This document will be the first review of EEDSM regulatory Rules since 2004. Energy efficiency and demand-side management has significantly gained in stature in South Africa and has become recognised as one of the most cost-effective ways of meeting the electricity demand and environmental targets.

The Department of Minerals and Energy announced a decrease of 10 cents per litre in retail price for all grades of petrol.  There will be no change in price for diesel 0.05% and a 2 cents increase per litre in wholesale price for diesel 0.005%. The decrease will be effective on 1 September 2010.
