Southern Africa Food Security Outlook 2010 Minimize

The FEWS NET Food Security Outlook for Southern Africa for the period January to June 2010 has been published.  The Outlook presents an overview of current food security conditions and the progress of the 2009/10 crop season.  It then projects the most likely food security conditions over the six month period for the region.

 

The maps on current and most likely food security conditions summarize the results of FEWS NET outlook analysis in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe

Southern Africa Food Security Outlook: April - September 2009 Minimize

The FEWS NET Food Security Outlook for Southern Africa for the period April - September 2009.

This outlook presents current (April 2009) regional food security conditions and then presents expected conditions over the Outlook period.  The report also provides more detailed analysis of expected (most likely) conditions in the five FEWS NET countries (Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe) which are summarised findings of the country outlooks for the same period.  This report attempts to provide a basis for regional and global contingency food security planning and resource allocation, as well as in-country planning.
