Sustainable Agribusiness in Southern Africa
4, 5 February 2010 – Protea Hotel, Stellenbosch, South Africa

With increased worldwide awareness of food security and sustainable food production, agriculture is rapidly growing as one of the key industries on both a global and local level. In South Africa the greater agricultural value chain comprises a total of 15% of the gross domestic product (GDP).

There are a large number of challenges facing companies (in South Africa as well as on a global level) in the agricultural value chain. Tightening regulatory environments, changing climate patterns and associated impact on agricultural production, competition from international players, changing geopolitics, security of supply, social and environmental sustainability and increased stakeholder demands all contribute to the complexity of the industry.

At PricewaterhouseCoopers, our approach is to place ourselves in our agri clients’ shoes, enabling us to understand their exact needs and add value through application of our knowledge and experience. On 4 and 5 February 2010 we are hosting a conference on Sustainable Agribusiness in Southern Africa to discuss these challenges. The first day will be more strategically focus while the second day will deal with the specific challenges in breakaway discussion sessions. The target audience will be directors and senior management of leading agri-businesses in Southern Africa.
