• Departments of Labour and Home Affairs made a joint presentation to the Portfolio Committee on Labour regarding the presence of foreigners within the South African labour market.
• Department of Water Affairs provided the Portfolio Committee on Water and the Environment with elucidation on the status of rivers in South Africa, with the emphasis on water quality.
• Human Rights Watch appeared before the Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform to present their report on conditions existing on wine and fruit farms within the Western Cape.
• National Marketing Council and Transnet made presentations to the committee regarding the status of rail transport in South Africa.
• Minister Nkwinti officially released the Green Paper on Land Reform to the media in Parliament.
