ABC addresses 1stAsia AgChem Summit in Shanghai, China
The CEO of the Agricultural Business Chamber, Dr John Purchase was invited to address the Summit on South Africa’s agricultural landscape, identify opportunities for trade and future business development in the agricultural chemicals market, as well as provide market analysis in terms of what works and what does not work in South Africa and even further abroad into Africa.
Much of the focus of the Summit was on the global move to cheaper off-patent generics, much of which is produced in China, and on quality and stewardship concerns which have resulted from these developments. Given the institutions represented and the high level speakers that participated, the Summit undoubtedly made tremendous progress in raising the bar as far as standards, stewardship and pride in the broader crop protection industry are concerned.
