| OCTOBER 2008 - Monday, October 27, 2008South Africa is among the top three exporters of apricots in 2006 and accounted for 18% of the value of world exports. South Africa ranked number five, accounting for 7% of the value of world exports for peaches in 2006. The trade profiles for apricots and peaches are analysed in the October 2008 edition of International TradeProbe. Over the past year, South African wine, citrus fruits, grapes and processed pork have found their niche in the Chinese market. This edition reports on market access challenges in the rapidly growing Chinese market. South Africa also enjoys preferential market access for a number of agricultural products in the USA market under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). Fruit juices, the topic of the last article covered in this issue, count among the agricultural products that enjoy a zero tariff.
